It is Rine Dolls’ dream for black dolls to be the norm on every child’s toy shelf. It is important that children grow up being able to relate to dolls that resemble them in complexion and hairstyles, it plays a major role in instilling confidence, positive self esteem and pride.
Playing with black dolls encourages diversity, eliminates bias and helps embrace the rainbow nation. Rine dolls are not just for children, they are for adults too, they make beautiful decor accessories and props for photoshoots.

Our slogan is “Rine ri thase”, a Tshivenda phrase meaning “we are gorgeous”. Rine dolls was founded by Dr Mata Ramabulana, an Anaesthetist who is also passionate about mentoring and empowering young girls.
